I probably got lucky as heck, but I caught one on a shrimp about a month ago back in the bayou out by Aunt Jenny's in Ocean Springs. I also caught a speck and a flounder the same day in the same spot. I caught the speck and then we went out close to Horn Island and didn't catch anything so we came back to where I caught the speck and I got the flounder and red about 10 minutes apart. I've been back to that spot about 6 times and haven't caught really anything worth keeping. I would love to see some tips from some real fisherman though, I'm pretty new to fishing.

Yeah I haven't really been out anywhere besides here in Gulfport (out by the Island View casino)

There's a little jetty that goes out with a sand barge at the tip... but you've got to get there by kayak.. and I have only been able to borrow one so I haven't been back. There were some big reds tailing, like 40 inches+.

I'm hoping to get some more people on this board for some expert tipssmile.gif

small croakers (live) will often get those Reds to bite,  Only place I know selling them is ocean springs harbor bait shop.   If you have Brill net you may be able to catch a few wading along the beach shallows...
