What do you need to know, I am all over the Biloxi Bay and deer Island area. Best Advice any can give you is do not think you are ok because it looks the same.... Many new hazards and some old ones relocated... Channel is marked and for the most part ok for fast runs as long as you watch for Sand bars along the edges, Some very close on west end near Popps ferry bridge.
Fishing is hit and miss unless you know a honey hole and get lucky that it has not changed.... Old OS bridge is still a producer for Trout and Sheep head, new reef south of Deer Island (Katrina reef) is an easy run for most boats, I personally will not go in a skiff, but anything 16 ft or better with a reliable motor is fine
Shore fishing is hit and miss at best, Most piers are still a mess, In the Bay, Popps Ferry causeway has been a productive place on the west side between the small bridge and the boat launch area. a few reds, trout and drum. If you are a veteran the VA pier has also seen some decent action in the last month. forget the piers near forrest ave, They see very few decent fish caught, although we used to night fish there for trout with live shrimp under a popping cork and get some results on a hit and miss basis.
Wading gets some results at the end of St Charles St you will see the remains of the pier just work the area with a live shrimp or a lure of your choice. The wall area east of Isle of Capri has done well too, just bring alot of tackle because the snags are a plenty there..
