Had a decent day on the northwest side of Horn Island, About 3 miles from west tip. had a good run of Trout and Ground mullet and just to make it fun there were a few others including 2 small pompano and a pig fish..... Live bait shrimp were very small but still produced well, Berkley gulp Crabs were #2 choice and the ground mullet bait of choice... May do another run tomorrow and make it a sunrise on site trip....
correction: the two I previously Identified as pompano are actually small Blue Runners or hardtails, I learned of my mistake after talking with an old Charter boat Captain, Way to avoid this mistake pompano have smooth sides and the blue runners have a boney feel midbody extending back to the tail. Also note the black spot near the gills on the Blue Runner
